About Wisconsin - update

I still haven't heard anybody on the union side say they're expecting more, or asking more, or demanding anything more.  Walker and DumFux News and East Blogistan keep trying to paint the unions as greedy bastards out to fleece the innocent taxpayer.  Bullshit.

Here it is, straight up:
What the protesters and the unions and the Wisconsin Dems are fighting for is pretty simply their rights (and ours, btw) under the First Amendment.
The right of association
The right to peaceable assembly

  1. If we leave it up to employers to gauge our pay and benefits, how long do you think it will be before they pay us next to nothing with NO beneifts? Then what will we do? A boss will pat you on the back as he tells you how good-for-nothing you are...if he could get away with not paying you at all!

    Start a union?

No, my friend, it will be against the law and you will end up in jail for even attempting to create one.

Look back in history and see how the giants of industry treated workers. The seamstresses, coal miners, manufacturing workers...they all went on strike to push against low ages, long hours and no vacations, let alone holidays or sick days off. And if you were injured on the job? They got another peasant to replace you in a heartbeat! How can anyone say what we have today isn't because of unions?

We stand on the shoulders of those who came...and fell...before us!

We cannot not belittle their contributions to where we find ourselves today...for tomorrow, it may very well be gone.

Then we will have to start from the beginning again. Striking for long periods of time while we watch our loved ones go hungry until we win back what we had yesterday!

They came for the private sector union jobs and I did nothing.
They came for MY job and now I can do NOTHING!"
