COVID-19 Update

The contagion seems to be accelerating again in some countries, just as we're starting to get more people on board with masks and distancing. So maybe, we're seeing the elasticity effect - results of our behavior are lagging indicators of that behavior - and the numbers of New Cases and Deaths will level off, and begin to go down again in a few weeks.

Of course, here in USAmerica Inc, we act like a nation of spoiled impetuous children, and we're being very poorly led by some people who are either very stupid or totally unscrupulous, so I'm not optimistic that the more rabid of the rubes will allow us to stay with a plan long enough to make it work. The good news on that front is that lately, we've seen fewer reports of Karens and Kens throwing their little tantrums at Trader Joe's or Walmart or wherever.

World:

One bit of "good news" is that the number of COVID-19 cases that qualify as Serious or Critical is pretty low at about 1%. I remember from months ago that some people were estimating a Criticality Number quite a bit higher than that. So - yay on that one? We have to take these little victories wherever we can find them.
