Every accusation is a confession.
There's something still pretty drastically wrong here in USAmerica Inc®.
We have a Republican party making all kinds of moves to take away Voting Rights, Civil Rights, and Human Rights - while telling us we have to get in line and swear allegiance to their prescribed brand of "patriotism", and to obey authority figures upon pain of death.
It's the same Republican party that encourages people to take up arms in fear of a "repressive government", while refusing even to acknowledge the connection of their rhetoric to (and their tacit complicity in) the Jan6 attempted overthrow of the 2020 election.
We have a faction in the US Senate that currently holds exactly half of the 100 seats while representing 41 million fewer Americans than the 50 Democrats. But even though a big majority of us want the Dems to get some positive and progressive things done, the Republicans stop everything by means of their veto power - aka: the filibuster.
This is not democracy - this is minority rule. And we have a lot of work to do.
