Virginia sees 1,705 new coronavirus cases Friday, 8,004 new cases in the last week
There are now 20,149 deaths from the coronavirus in Virginia
As of Friday, Virginia is reporting 1,691,268 cases of the coronavirus across the Commonwealth since March 2020.
Across Virginia, 81.7% of the population is vaccinated with at least one dose, while 73.1% of all Virginians are fully vaccinated, according to VDH.
In the last seven days, Virginia has averaged 1,143 newly reported cases a day. In the prior seven-day period, Virginia averaged 1,060 newly reported cases a day.
The past week’s average daily newly reported cases are 9.33% higher than the previous seven-day period.
Cases are trending in the wrong goddamned direction
