Please Don't Feed The Monsters

This is something I've been thinking about lately. Especially in light of the feeling I get when I start to let down my guard and go a little too far with the ideology.

Don't get me wrong - I'm always always always going to be motivated to kick bigots and Nazi's in the nuts.

But what I think I need is to be more careful about making sure I'm accurately identifying those bigots and Nazis, and not just putting something up because it could score me a few points in my own head.

I've purposefully avoided trying to monetize my blog, and my social media stuff because I don't want to even risk being radicalized by the algorithm. The problem I'm seeing lately, is that I may be way more susceptible to that than I've thought I was.

The bitch of it is that we're in a brick fight with some pretty nasty people - lots of bigots and Nazis - but not all of them are actual bigots and Nazis. Some of them are just playing to the aforementioned algorithm. So I have to be discerning in my brick-throwing, because it's just possible that some of them could be won over if I don't automatically smack them upside the head with a brick.

It is a puzzlement.
