The Salem Witch Trials weren't ended by lawsuit, but by the governor, who stepped in because those pinch-faced Pilgrim-ey motherfuckers accused the guy's wife, and it became very clear that it was nothing more than a fear-weapon being used by some very bad-faith Christo-Fascist assholes to politically manipulate their way into power.
"Lawsuits" - after a fashion, according to the way of things in the late 17th century American colonies - were pursued by various people who'd been harmed by that bullshit, which brought some fairly heavy pressure to bear on politicians who finally caught on and decided to do something about it.
Fast forward to the 21st century, when America is again being colonized - this time by billionaire plutocrats - and we're still fighting bad-faith assholes who are determined to fuck us over so they can live la dulce vida on the sweat and blood of working people.
Grab 'em by the balls, and their hearts and minds will follow.
