Election Update
Still a ways to go - there will be tantrums and lawsuits and possibly violent outbursts - but we're gettin' there.
And btw - we just elected the first-ever woman Veep, and the first-ever POC Veep.
We can prob'ly assume Alaska and N Carolina will go Republican, which puts the Senate at R50-D48. There are 2 special election runoffs for both Senate seats in Georgia. If the Dems win both, then there's a 50-50 split, and since the Dems have the White House, they own the majority because of the rule that says VP breaks the tie.
But yeah - McConnell will likely continue his Grim Reaper shit until we can make him stop.
Congratulations America! What a great start! It will still be an uphill slog for the good, but it is a super start.
ReplyDeleteThe Turtle will block everything so you have to work on turning Congress blue next midterm.
Congress is wrong, should be the Senate.
