Americans are widely feared and hated for the shit we've pulled - Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan and and and.
So I get it. I know we don't get any kind of pass. We don't get to expect people to see us as anything but warmongering colonialist monsters until we've spent a lot of time proving ourselves otherwise.
So by the same token, until the Russian people get a handle on themselves - until they can get up on their hind legs and kick Putin and his oligarchs in the nuts - when they show themselves to be the people we know Russians can be - kind and generous and peaceable - then I'll stop saying Russians are assholes. In the meantime, they can stay the fuck away from the decent people in the world.
