                                                 $800M at restaurants

Twice as many black folks bought a Merceds-Benz as white folks, even though white folks have 2 or 4 or 6 times the wealth as black folks.

When they can't fully participate in the freedom they see all around them, people will surround themselves with the trappings of that freedom - the status symbols.
