Perna does a vlog series on YouTube about the NFL, and my Broncos in particular.

It would seem 45* is weeks behind on information that should be considered when making decisions about what to do in response to COVID-19. He "cites" the statistics, but he either omits new information, or he demonstrates his ignorance of it.
I think we should know by now that it doesn't matter whether or not he doesn't know or he doesn't care.
And we should stop wondering about, and arguing over, whether or not he knows right from wrong. He doesn't care about what's right or wrong. For a man who sees everything as a straight up transaction, right and wrong are just a coupla more items on the list of negotiable items.
What matters is that we have a "president" who spouts whatever bullshit he thinks will get him what he wants right now.
He is the absolute epitome of the bad salesman who thinks only in terms of what he has to promise, and not what he has to deliver.

On how great women of history never escape getting slammed for being whores or ball-breakers or harpies or gold-diggers or or or.
Like we just can't bring ourselves to say they were great in their own right, and allow for the simple fact that nobody's perfect, and that by insisting on the ideal, we're always setting ourselves up for disillusionment.
Plus, it's good to be reminded that women generally have good reason to get a little prickly because of the constant stream of aggressions - micro or macro or subtle or obvious or physical or implied or what-the-fuck-ever.
Anyway, here's Sandi Toksvig:

Breakin' It Down
Bryan Tyler Cohen
(Cult45 says) "...it's rigged because Trump couldn't participate, but when they offered him a chance to participate, he said no because it was rigged because he hadn't had a chance to participate."

A guy like 45* sees no value in anything outside himself.
He's learned some basics about Buzzword Selling though, which is why he remembers to say things like "my family" (throwing a bone to the Christianists) and "our nation" (trying to invoke some mythical connection with Lincoln et al) before he wanders off on one of his little imagination safaris.
And he's exactly the guy you don't want next to you in a fight.
BTW, Smedley Butler warned us about this shit a long time ago.

Carlin Knew It All Along
George Carlin was a prophet.
This is a clip from his gig at the Press Club Luncheon many moons ago. The part that always comes back around, sounding ridiculously prescient, starts at about 5:40.

Last Week Tonight
John Oliver reminds us about a future that's impossible for us even to imagine.
I think I can confirm that the countdown to Zardoz is now well underway.

The En-Dumb-ening Continues
Last Week Tonight returns (finally), and we get a glimpse of Idiots on TV in the second block.
Welcome back, John Oliver.
(there's a glitch at about 9:00 where they cut the clip of the "reality show" - I'm thinking because of copyright trouble)

Change Gonna Come
Part of "The Vulnerability Series," a collection of paintings by Syrian artist Abdalla Al Omari.
They all had more than a few chances to "make it right". Some tried harder than others, but the likely results will render those differences moot.
I'm anything but some kind of God-Knobbin' Jesus Pimp, but this tune has one of my all-time favorite lines: "On the 31st floor, a gold-plated door won't keep out the lord's burnin' rain."
