COVID-19 Update
It isn't evident yet in the numbers, but it's possible the next wave has begun.
WaPo:
As the number of new coronavirus cases continues to increase worldwide, and more than a dozen states and Puerto Rico are recording their highest averages of new cases since the pandemic began, hospitalizations in at least nine states have been on the rise since Memorial Day.
In Texas, North and South Carolina, California, Oregon, Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah and Arizona, there are an increasing number of patients under supervised care since the holiday weekend because of coronavirus infections. The spikes generally began in the past couple weeks and in most states are trending higher.
Data from states that are now reporting some of their highest seven-day averages of new cases is disproving the notion that the country is seeing such a spike in cases solely because of the continued increase in testing, according to data tracked by The Washington Post.
Many of these states that have experienced an increase in cases have also had an increase in hospitalizations, with a handful of states also nearing bed capacity. Hospitalizations nationwide are difficult to track, with states reporting hospitalization numbers in varying ways, or not at all. Even states that do report hospitalization numbers may not have always received complete data from every hospital in the state at the time of their reports.

COVID-19 Update
CNBC:
They can't rule it out, but it sounds like they're making a pretty strong statement that asymptomatic people are not a main vector for the disease.
Officials in Europe, the United States and other wealthy areas are reopening their economies amid slowing infection rates. Yet the pandemic is worsening in many parts of the developing world, and the global infection peak may still be months away.
The coronavirus has already sickened more than seven million people worldwide and killed at least 405,400, according to a New York Times database. The World Health Organization has said that Sunday’s 136,000 new cases were a new single-day high, and that three-quarters of them came from just 10 countries, mostly in the Americas and South Asia.
Yet as some developing countries return to daily life in an effort to ease the virus’s brutal impact on the poor, they are creating infection risks.
South Africa, for example, whose caseload of nearly 51,000 is Africa’s highest, has started to reopen this week. But it has recorded more than half of its current cases in the past two weeks alone.

Unfortunately, WHO's statements regarding the spread of COVID-19 have come under fire for being clinically vague to the point where it just confuses people (like me).
Apparently, she wasn't really saying we have little to worry about when it comes to asymptomatic people infecting others - she was splitting hairs and saying there's a difference between "asymptomatic" and "pre-symptomatic", and they still really don't have a good handle on what the fuck is going on.
Clear as a fuckin' brick. Thanks, guys.
Anyway -

We may be about to see the real-world lesson of inter-connectedness play itself out.
We've rebuilt Mercantilism, and the countries being exploited for their raw materials &/or where we exploit cheap labor to produce everything we consume, are in the process of what could become outbreaks that cripple the global supply chain.

From Dictatorship To Democracy
The Atlantic (pay wall):
Sharp’s foundational insight is embedded in an aphorism: “Obedience is at the heart of political power.” A dictator doesn’t maintain power on his own; he relies on individuals and institutions to carry out his orders. A successful democratic revolution prods these enablers to stop obeying. It makes them ashamed of their complicity and fearful of the social and economic costs of continued collaboration.
Sharp posited that revolutionaries should focus first on the regime’s softest underbelly: the media, the business elites, and the police. The allegiance of individuals in the outer circle of power is thin and rooted in fear. By standing strong in the face of armed suppression, protesters can supply examples of courage that inspire functionaries to stop carrying out orders, or as Sharp put it, to “withhold cooperation.” Each instance of resistance provides the model for further resistance. As the isolation of the dictators grows—as the inner circles of power join the outer circle in withholding cooperation—the regime crumbles.
