Q&A

Although it was a pretty good answer, Harris got a bit politician-y with it.

But compared with how I would've answered, well - I think it demonstrates why she's the candidate and guys like me aren't.

Slippage

Seems like all the hangers-on are still trying to play it on the straight with Trump - even after he's demonstrated consistently that he has no intention of repaying their loyalty - because they're absolutely sure they've sold him on the idea that they need to stick together (?)

And it doesn't matter if his reciprocation makes his own position better or worse. It's just a matter of whatever fucked up notion he has in his head at any given time.

There's something wrong with these people. They all act like rubes.

The Funhouse

Kevin McCarthy has lost on 6 ballots so far.

And as fun as it is to sit back and watch the GOP implode, remember: There's a fair probability that making democracy look bad is the point of the exercise for some of these jokers.

This Just In

Only about 10% of the Election Denier crowd lost last week. Now, you could say that doesn't sound like a lot, and you'd be right, but on the one hand, most of the idiots who lost were Trump-Anointed Idiots.

On the other hand - yes, Trump is probably heading for the Hall Of Hidden Republicans, as the GOP once again builds their lifeboats and cranks up the Rebranding Transmogrifier.

And of course the Press Poodles are crowing about how Trump's MAGA shit is dead now, so everybody can stop yelling and get things back to normal.

But wait a sec - not so fuckin' fast there, Skeezix.

Trump lost - and lost pretty big - but 85-90% percent of the assholes who say the 2020 election was stolen won their seats.

So how the fuck does that mean "Yay - it's over - we can all relax now"?

These guys play the long game, so they'll take what they can get, consolidate their position as best they can - which is usually pretty gosh-darned good - and continue the Plutocracy Project as planned.

We came close to losing it all. And we are not outa the woods yet - not by a long shot.

Here are the stories (pay wall):

Defeats signal that Americans are weary of Trump’s unfounded claims
Election administrators and voting rights advocates said the rebuke of election deniers seeking state-level office was a refreshing course correction by voters.

The party of Trump pays for being the party of Trump
Election Day has come and gone, and the counting continues without a definitive answer to the question of what the balance of power will look like in the coming two years.

The GOP’s disappointing midterm results spur some donors and party leaders to consider other 2024 candidates

Meanwhile down at Mar-A-Lago, new surveillance video has leaked:

Seems Odd

This popped up on Reddit's r/terriblefacebookmemes

I don't know who posted it, so I can't answer the usual basic question:
Is it a fearful warning or a menacing threat?

A Video

America still has friends - and they want us to get this fuckin' thing done.

Boris Hiestand (@BorisHiestand):

Thank you to everyone out there helping us keep the faith - whether it's by holding our hands as we fret - or our heads as we puke - or by poking us with a stick to make sure we stay awake and moving.

We're workin' on it, guys. I promise.

Brrr

Even Hell, Mich., froze over: The community outside of Ann Arbor was expected to see temperatures drop to minus-26 overnight into Thursday. The nearby University of Michigan took the rare step of canceling classes through Thursday.

But, according to DumFux News, we can't stop using fossil fuel now, even though the use of fossil fuel has fucked it all up for us, because fossil fuel is the only thing we have that's really reliable - and let's be sure to conveniently ignore the fact that the fossil fuel industry's efforts to make their fuel the only one we can rely on is what got us into this fuckin' mess in the first fuckin' place.

The only real defense against Winter Storm Jayden is fossil fuels—the source of the vast majority of electricity that Americans will need to stay warm. Pie-in-the-sky talk about renewable energy won’t warm hearths and hearts during this storm, because the sun isn’t shining all the time and the wind capacity simply isn’t there.

Sorry not sorry but - goddammit, I hate these assholes.
