"I've just been mentored"

On Herding Cats

So here we are at the beginning of another election cycle.

Not crazy about Warren? Cool.
Think Beto just don't cut? Fine.
Sick to death of all the Biden memes? OK.
Bernie's 2 years past his freshness date? Awesome.

I'm not asking you to keep it all under your hat. I'm not telling you to sit down and shut up.

You should stand up and you should speak up.

But don't lose your shit just because I like somebody who you're convinced is a DINO, and the new Darling Of The Wall Street Crowd, and nothing more or less than the embodiment of the Evil Duopoly and blah blah blah.

Get the fuck over yourself.

Everybody running for the Dem nomination is a better choice than the Flaming Racist Daddy State Asshole currently steering the entire world directly into the sun.

EVERY FUCKING ONE OF 'EM

Horribly Horribly Wrong

WaPo ran a story yesterday about a USCG officer being arrested for planning to launch violent attacks on the people he thought needed to die - politicians journalists judges etc.

“The defendant intends to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country”

"Rarely seen".

The world in general (and this country in particular) is a pretty fucked up place when a guy who -

...called for “focused violence” to “establish a white homeland” and said, “I am dreaming of a way to kill almost every last person on the earth.”

- has to be characterized as "rare" and not "completely un-fucking-heard of".

And of course we can lay this shit at the feet of Cult45, and of course they'll deny it with their screaming silence.

Redneck Update

We gain strength from diversity, but unity is what gets us power.

Trae Crowder:

Today's Quote

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizens Councilor or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to order than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension, to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.

Mad skills

George Polk

Every year, Long Island University hands out awards to reporters and news organizations they deem to have achieved excellence in print or broadcast journalism.

Cision PR Newswire:

"The Polk Awards recognize the changing landscape of news," said John Darnton, curator of the awards. "The story of a person who in all likelihood is wrongly convicted is tried and true. But the podcast, as a delivery vehicle spread over multiple episodes that makes listeners feel it is unfolding in real time right before their ears, is a new and exciting reincarnation."

Darnton noted that the judges had reviewed 554 submissions, a record number since the Polk Awards began. "Few years have been as fruitful as this one," he added. "These winners tell us that the best of our journalists remain resilient, courageous, dedicated and undeterred by attacks on their ability and integrity."

It's awards season again, and for the 23rd year in a row - since its inception - DumFux News came up short. Again.

0 for 23 Lifetime
(let's just say you're not goin' to the Hall Of Fame on those numbers)

On Balance

Andy Borowitz, The New Yorker:

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) - Hinting darkly that "there's something going on," Donald J. Trump complained on Friday that he has been treated "very unfairly" by the people who wrote the United States Constitution.

"If the Constitution prevented me from doing one or two things, I'd chalk that up to bad luck," he said. "But when literally everything I want to do is magically a violation of the Constitution, that's very unfair and bad treatment."

Lashing out at the document's authors, Trump said that "America is a great country, but we have maybe the worst constitution writers in the world."

"Russia has much better constitution writers than we do," he said. "I talked to Putin, and he said their constitution never gives him problems."

"The situation is very unfair!" he added.

In an ominous warning, Trump said that, as of Friday, he was putting the writers of the U.S. Constitution "on notice."

"I don't have their names yet, but that's something I'm looking into," he said. "These jokers are not going to get away with this."
