Christmas Wishes

Here's hoping we all eventually get what most of us wanted for Christmas.

Make A Joyful Noise

After all the shouting and pain and bloodshed that go hand in hand with religion and the politics that comes with religion, I'm always left with these three things:

One is my atheism - and thank god for that.

Another one is that eventually, we get to Christmas, where we find some amazing and glorious music to help us process all the silly (and often dangerous) weirdness that goes on in our minds.

The third is a wish - that we could just stick to the art, and learn how to skip all that other shit.

Sometimes it's hard not to see winter as bleak and harsh and bereft of anything hopeful, even knowing it's just part of the continuing cycle of our lives. But if we hold each other in the warmth of our hearts, we're not alone - and we can welcome a long and lustrous season waiting for spring.

Merry Christmas, everybody.

Holiday Safety Tip

Nothing spoils the Christmas mood like some thieving asshole.

And while I'd rather watch these dripping dicks get blown up, that wouldn't exactly be in keeping with the spirit of the season - or the law, for that matter.

It's just good to know there are people out there who know how to do stuff, and do it in a way that makes the point while staying inside the boundaries (something we've been sorely missing of late).

May the fake lord bless you and keep you, Super Nerds.

Christmas Ad

The phrase "truth in advertising" has some interesting twists.

The best ads (ie: the most effective) always play on our emotions; sometimes in a cynically manipulative way.

But that doesn't mean there's never a good message.

One of my faves.

It's good to remember that it's always up to us. No matter what the politicians or other bosses tell us, we make the final decision on what we do - on our own, for ourselves.

It's not much of a war if nobody shows up to fight.
