b) don't count on ending the shit in Ukraine any time soon (it could happen, but don't count on it, cuz Russia will go on fucking with everything as long as Putin stays in place
And So Begins The Task --Stephen Stills with Judy Collins
And so begins the task I have dreaded the coming of For so long I wait for the sun To remind my body It needs restin'
And I must learn to live without you now I must learn to give only part some how
Camping on the edge Of your city I wait Hoping someday You might See Beyond yourself
The shadows on the ceiling Hard But not real Like the bars that cage You within yourself
And I must learn to live without you now I must learn to give only part some how And I must learn to live without you now As I cannot learn to give only part some how
All of these cages Must And shall be set aside They will only Keep Us from the knowing
Actors And stages Now fall before the truth As the love Shared Between us Remains Growing
And I must learn to live without you now As I cannot learn to give only part some how
As de-globalization gets a foothold, and we start to repatriate the jobs companies have been sending overseas for 30 or 40 years, maybe unions really are on the rise in a way that will make a real difference.
A lot of Dems bad-mouthed Hilary and voted for Stine, or wrote in Bernie, or stayed home, or whatever, thinking they'd send a message. They were totally confident she'd win, but they thought they were being clever by keeping her from winning by "too much".
Now we have a shit load of Republicans telling us they'll support "the Republican ticket" - this in spite of all the bad shit they admit and condemn him for - and I think it's more of the same too-cute-by-half bullshit. There are some real possibilities here, but none of them is "yeah, let's get Trump elected again."
The worst of those possibilities is the Susan Collins Theory: "I think he's learned his lesson", or "We'll be able to rein him in, and while everybody's hoppin' mad because of his antics, we'll get all the plutocracy stuff in place, and then get rid of him." (Call it The Franz von Pappen Plan")
An alternative is kind of a turnaround of the Dems' brilliant shit that blew up in their faces - that they'll vote for Trump, hoping Biden doesn't beat him too badly, and that enough of the down-ballot bozos will be rescued so the party will survive, and they'll have something to take over once they've driven Trump out (assuming the normies find their balls and stand up to the rubes - obviously not something anybody should be counting on).
